Skill Builder I ProgramProgram SummaryThis four-phase program is designed to fill in gaps in experience and learning and prepare a student to attain job skills in PC hardware and software, networking, routing, and security. Training methods include both instructor-led training and web-based training. As a requirement for this 12-month program, a student must attend New Horizons of Knoxville for a minimum of 18 hours per week in training. We believe this requirement will aid a student greatly in achieving his or her training goals. For veterans using GI-BILL Education Benefits to fund training, all training time must be spent on site in our center. Four Phase ProgramPhase I covers foundational material and consists of all courses in the Business Productivity Club. The student who purchases this program may take any or all of these programs however courses should be selected with assistance from the student’s Education Consultant. Phase II is the specialization phase and consists of job/certifications outcomes such as: IC3, MOS, A+, Network+, Security+, IT Project+, Linux+, MCDST, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA, and CCNA. The student may take any 11 courses (Microsoft, CompTIA or Cisco CCNA) from this phase. Your Education Counselor will you determine the exact courses you should take to meet the requirements for specific job skills you want to achieve. Phase III is Learning Lab and Online Support and it includes a 1-year subscription to the Online ANYTIME IT Library as well as 1-year access to our Learning Lab. Phase IV is Practice Skills. Practice and reinforcement of skills can be done via the Learning Lab and the online vLabs. The Learning Lab, Online ANYTIME and vLab can be used on a weekly basis when 18 class hours per week are not available.
